Innovative system for complaints of citizens of elderly age by the Municipality of Chania

 

An innovative and innovative citizen complaints system - especially for elderly age people who do not have the required knowledge or the ability to access PCs and smartphones - was presented today by the municipality of Chania as part of the Smart Cities program. is funded by Interreg VA Greece Cyprus 2014-2020.

The system presented today, present by the Mayor of Chania, Mr. Panagiotis Simandirakis and the Deputy Mayors of the municipality, has been installed at the Elderly Day Care Center - KIFI (28210 74476) located at 8 Odysseas Elytis street, in Kaminini area.

 

As the mayor of Chania said, it is an implementation-creation of municipal services, similarly absent in any other municipality in the country, which makes it possible for an elderly person to have day-to-day problems that they find everyday. that exist in their area.

 

Through the platform, seniors with a card with their details can log in, choose the subject that concerns them, whether it is cleanliness, or lighting or something else, locate their location on the map and send this information to responsible service of the municipality of Chania.

Mr. Semandirakis said it is important that through this program we keep the seniority alert, maintain its relationship with the municipality, and the elderly continue to be active citizens.

For her part, the head of the Department of Planning, Organization and Informatics of the Municipality of Chania, Mrs. Sevasti Polychronaki said that the program has various actions and the aim of the municipality was to find a solution for the citizens who do not have access to computers and application.

The system that serves this need has been installed in all KAPI and the municipality of Chania and the beneficiaries can simply submit a complaint or problem they have and send it directly to the competent department to resolve it.

As noted by the elderly, there is particular interest in the program, while reducing the need for locals to visit the town hall to deal with simple everyday problems.
